Creator rate calculator

There is no published price list for creator work, which is why the same creator quotes wildly different numbers to different brands. This gives you a defensible range to open from, scaled by engagement rather than by follower count alone.

The arithmetic

base = followers ÷ 1,000 × 8, adjusted by engagement rate (×1.8 above 6%, ×1.3 above 3%, ×1 above 1%, ×0.6 below), then shown as a range from 0.8× to 1.4× that figure

What it does not tell you

  • It is a heuristic, not a market rate. Rates vary by country, category, exclusivity, usage rights and whether you want the content for paid ads — and usage rights in particular can double a fee legitimately.
  • It is currency-agnostic. The number is in whatever currency you think in; the ratio is what the tool is for.
  • It prices ONE feed post. A bundle, a series, or anything with whitelisting or exclusivity attached is a different negotiation.
  • A creator with proof of sales is worth more than this number, and should be paid more. The range is a starting point for creators nobody has measured yet.

Questions

›How much should I pay an influencer per post?

The common rule of thumb is a base rate per thousand followers, adjusted for how engaged that audience is — a creator with 25,000 followers and a strong engagement rate is worth considerably more than one with 25,000 followers and a weak one. Beyond that, the honest answer is that rates are set by negotiation and by what the creator can prove. Exclusivity, usage rights for paid advertising, and content volume all move the number legitimately, sometimes by a lot.

›Should I pay a flat fee or commission?

Both, usually. A flat fee compensates the work of making the content, which the creator does whether or not it sells; a commission aligns them with the outcome. A hybrid — a modest fee plus a percentage of attributed sales — is the structure most creators accept and most brands can justify, and it is the one that lets a creator who performs well earn their way up to a higher fee with evidence rather than argument.

›How do I justify paying one creator more than another?

With measured results, which is the only argument that survives the conversation. Once each creator has a tracked link and a unique promo code, you can show revenue per creator and return on what you paid them, and a rate negotiation becomes a discussion about numbers you both agree on rather than about follower counts.

Estimates are fine. Proof is better.

This page works with the numbers you can see from outside. What it cannot tell you is what a creator sold. CreatorLift gives each creator a tracked link and a unique promo code, matches orders back to them, and stores the rule that matched each one — so the answer survives someone asking how you know. The pilot is ₹999 ($12) for 30 days on your own store.
